Video Transcript
Egypt’s tourism is surging again, driven by exchange-rate liberalisation. After a 71.8% drop in 2020, arrivals bounced back—up 117.5% in 2021, reaching 8 million visitors. Investors are rushing in: Emaar is building ten hotels with 3,000 rooms, investing EGP 26.3 billion. Tourism is forecast to rise to 13.1 million visitors in 2023. Occupancy rates are climbing, and Orascom expects 28% yearly growth with strong profit margins. With a booming sector and major investments, Egypt’s tourism comeback is stronger than ever.
